Mallya Aditi Kindness Initiative 23-24

Project: ShaktiGym

I had the privilege of contributing to India’s first-ever gym designed exclusively for women with disabilities, established at the Better World Shelter in Chennai. While the gym does not carry an official name, I personally refer to it as Shakti Gym – the Sanskrit word for power and feminine strength – as it reflects the spirit of the space. Spearheaded by Dr. Aishwarya Rao and sanctioned and supported by the Greater Chennai Corporation and the Government of Tamil Nadu, the initiative represents a meaningful shift in how inclusion, access, and visibility are approached in public fitness spaces. Beyond infrastructure, it stands as a statement of dignity and independence. Through collaborations with para-athletes, coordination around adaptive equipment, and contributions to inclusive design discussions, I played a small role in supporting this vision. What began as field engagement in rural Dharmapuri evolved into participation in a larger, city-level initiative – one that redefines strength not merely as physical ability, but as personal empowerment and social transformation.

Project: Chords of Change

Chords of Change is a journey of transformation, blending the power of music with a commitment to uplift others. Here I teach guitar to underprivileged children and this initiative seeks to inspire growth, empowerment, and hope. Each action is a step toward creating a legacy of positive change that resonates far beyond today, giving these children a lifelong skill.
